Frequently asked questions #
Do I need an account? #
No. SwiftList has no sign-up and no login. Open it and start a list.
Can WithyWork see my lists? #
No. Lists are stored on your devices and, with iCloud Sync, in your own private iCloud database. WithyWork runs no server for SwiftList.
Why don’t my lists show on my other devices? #
iCloud Sync is part of Premium. Check Settings, Sync is on, and every device is signed in to the same Apple Account. Tap Sync Now to nudge it.
I bought Premium but it isn’t showing. #
Open the Premium screen and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you bought with.
I can’t add a sub-item. #
On Free, lists go 2 levels deep, so a sub-item can’t have its own sub-items. Premium removes the limit. You can always move items out a level.
I can’t make a new list. #
Free keeps 3 active lists. Archive one you’re done with, since archived lists don’t count, or go Premium.
My alerts don’t arrive. #
Check notifications are allowed for SwiftList in the Settings app, the alert’s Enabled switch is on, the item isn’t done, and it has a due date if the alert is based on one.
Where did my finished items go? #
They may be hidden by Hide completed. Tap “Show” at the bottom of the list, or turn on Show hidden completed. If Archive completed is on, look in Settings, Archive.
I deleted something by mistake. #
Tap Undo in the banner right away. Later, look in Settings, Archive, or restore from Settings, Backup & Restore.
Siri opens the App Store instead of adding an item. #
Include “SwiftList” in the phrase, for example “Add to SwiftList”.
A widget change hasn’t shown up. #
Changes from widgets and the share sheet are applied when you next open SwiftList.
Are my SwiftList 1.x lists safe? #
Yes. They move over when 2.0 first opens, and the original file is kept as lists-v1-backup.json.
Is there Family Sharing? #
No. Purchases aren’t shared through Family Sharing.
Does SwiftList work with AI assistants? #
On a Mac, yes, if you turn on the MCP server in Settings. It is off and read-only by default and runs only on your Mac.
Can I use the Mac menu bar app for free? #
Yes. The Pop Out window and Quick Add from anywhere are Premium.
Deleted items came back. #
A device that was offline more than 180 days can bring old deletes back when it syncs. Delete them again.
The order of a list changed after syncing. #
If two devices reorder the same list at about the same time, the merged order can differ a little. Fix it once and it syncs.
The Mac popover closes when a dialog opens. #
That can happen in 2.0. Open SwiftList from the menu bar again, or use the Pop Out window.
Still stuck? #
Use the form on the Support page, or email info@withywork.com. Say which device and SwiftList version you have (Settings, About, Version).
