Find any item fast, and get a list out of SwiftList in the shape you need.

  • It searches titles and notes. With Premium it also searches text found in photos and voice memo transcripts.
  • Case and accents don’t matter. Every word you type has to match.
  • Results show a snippet and the path to the item, so you know where it lives.
  • Completed items that are hidden still show up, with a “Hidden” pill.

Share a list #

Tap Share in a list (or on the home screen for everything). The choices are:

  • Send as SwiftList File: for someone else who has SwiftList.
  • Export as File…: Markdown, CSV or PDF, for this view or every nested item.
  • Share as Checklist: plain text with check boxes.
  • Copy as Markdown and Copy as Rich Text.
  • Email List.
  • Add All to Reminders. See Apple Reminders.
  • Save as Template.

Turn on Include dates in Settings, Sharing, to add start and due dates to shared text.

Export as a file #

Under Include, choose This View (what you see now, with the current filter, for example “This view (Today)”) or All Nested Items. Then choose a format:

MarkdownKeeps the nesting, with ☐, ◐ and ☑ marks. Pastes well into notes apps.

SwiftList files #

A .swiftlist file carries a list with all its nesting, colors and details. When someone opens one, SwiftList shows Import List with two choices:

  • Add as New Item: “Adds the shared items directly to your top level.”
  • Merge into My List.

Importing as a new list counts toward the Free limit of 3 active lists.
