Got a list on paper or in your head? Scan it or say it. Text and speech are recognized on your device.

Scan a paper list #

  1. Tap New List, then Or from paper.
  2. Choose “Scan Paper List” to use the document camera, or “From a Photo of a List”. On the Mac it’s “Import from Photo…” or “From Photos Library”.
  3. SwiftList reads it on your device (“Reading the list on this device…”).
  4. Check the Scanned List preview, then tap Create.

The Scanned List preview #

  • List name.
  • Items, each with its level. Use Indent, Outdent, Delete and Add Row to fix anything.
  • Mark each row completed or not.
  • Attach the scan: “Keeps the paper original with the list.”

What the reader understands #

Check boxes, bullets, numbers and letters, indents, and “Heading:” lines, which become parents with the lines under them nested inside. Neat handwriting works better than quick scribbles.

Free includes 3 scans in total.

Photos on items #

See Items, Photos.

Voice memos #

In an item’s Details, under Voice Memos:

  • Record Voice Memo. “Tap to record”, then “Recording… tap to stop and save”.
  • Play or pause, and drag Position to scrub.
  • Transcribe turns speech into text on your device (“Transcribing on this device…”). With Premium it runs by itself after recording. It needs on-device speech support for your language.
  • Delete Memo.

Free includes 3 voice memos. Transcripts and searching inside them are Premium.
